Assistant Coaches for the VA AIS Centres of Excellence
The Volleyball Australia Centre of Excellence is a full time program for Australia’s most talented volleyball players who wish to pursue a high performance career in volleyball, with interest in playing professionally overseas, or attending quality Volleyball Programs at Canadian or US colleges, leading into the Volleyroos, the senior national team.
We are seeking Assistant Coaches to work with our Men’s and Women’s Indoor Centres of Excellence in Canberra throughout 2018.
The successful applicants will gain experience working with the VA Centre of Excellence Head Coaches and with the best young talented players on a daily basis. In addition, coaches will gain invaluable experience working with our Men’s and Women’s Volleyroos teams when preparing in Canberra for major international tournaments. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to engage in the various professional development activities run at the AIS for elite and developing coaches across all sports.
The Centres of Excellence operate from February to November, with breaks at various times of the year.
There are three models coaches can apply as Assistant Coaches.
1. Full-Time – Contract until December (New Role)
Resource Development and VA AIS Centre of Excellence Assistant Coach.
In addition to on court assistant coaching duties, the successful applicant will also project manage the Resource Development and Rising Stars Portfolio. This is a newly structured full time role.

2. Part-Time Volunteer Position
VA AIS Centre of Excellence Assistant Coach – Yearly Appointment
These are volunteer positions. The successful applicant will negotiate with the Head Coaches suitable times when they are able to assist weekly in the program.
3. Casual / AIS Residential Position – Short-term Appointments
VA AIS Centre of Excellence Assistant Coach Development Program
Nominees can apply for the date they wish to participate throughout the year. Appointments can be as short as a few days or as long a few months. This is an unpaid position but assistance with boarding and meals at the AIS may be provided.
