Our three Australian Beach Volleyball teams are out to bring home Aussie glory at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour three-star event at the Qinzhou Open in China.
Action gets underway this afternoon with the new pairing of Mariafe Artacho del Solar & Taliqua Clancy looking to back up their Gold Medal performance from just days ago in Japan. The girls have a tough first up match against Spain's Gutierriz/McMillan on court 2.
Just over an hour after that Louise Bawden will be hungry to bounce back from last week’s disappointment of going down to fellow Aussie and her Rio Olympics partner Taliqua Clancy. Bawden with her new partner Jess Ngauamo for the Asian tour also have a tough first up assignment taking on the local favourites of Wang/Yuan of China.
Our only men’s team at the tournament finish off the day against the 19th seeds from Germany Phillip Bergmann and Yannick Harms. The Aussie boys Cole Durant and Zach Schubert are seeded 12th and will be hell bent on going even better than their last up 5th place at the Osaka Open last week, as they eye off Commonwealth Games selection.
