The Australian Junior Volleyball Championships to get underway this weekend at the AIS in Canberra featuring 75 teams
Victoria will be the best represented state at this year’s Australian Junior Volleyball Championships (AJVC) with 18 teams.
Queensland will field 17 teams, NSW will bring 11 sides, while the ACT has two additional teams this year and will field a total of ten.
South Australia comes in next with nine teams, Western Australia has seven teams coming to Canberra with Tasmania fielding one team, and this will be the first time Tasmania has been represented at the AJVC since 2015.
Thailand is bringing their under 19 Girls’ Championship team while New Zealand will field a team in the under 17 Girls’ Championships.
There will also be the largest ever contingent of officials at AJVC with over 60 referees representing every state and territory in Australia. Among them will also be referees from Thailand, New Zealand and Fiji.
The AJVC gets underway with the opening ceremony at the AIS on 29 September.
